Join us for Movies Under The Moon on the front lawn of Sunrise Apartments.  Bring your snacks chairs, and blankets and enjoy a good movie. The public is more than welcome to join us for an evening of family fun.

In the event of rain, the movie will be relocated to the community room.  Open to the public.  Bring your own snacks and camp chairs or blankets

Join the fun and excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's walk on the moon.  There are events going on all year long to commemorate Wapakoneta's hometown hero. Events will continue throughout the year.

Quarterly Inspections and Filter Change

The next quarterly inspections will be held in October.  Watch the calendar for dates.  All units will be inspected.  Residents do not need to be present at the time of inspection.  Air filters  with be replace and smoke detector batteries will be tested at the same time.

Coming this Fall - Car Clinic

Fall car clinic will be offered again to residents to get ready for winter.  Have your tire pressure, windshelid wipers checked, oil checked, and more.

Free Dog Training Classes are offered to residents and their dogs to help them adjust to living in a high rise apartment downtown, to teach proper social etiquette and basic commands. Susan Smith from the Piqua Dog Clubs conducts the classes in the community room and the local neighborhood.  It is recommended for all dog owners, or those who are considering getting a dog to attend these classes.  Susan will even help you find the right dog for you and your family.  Classes are posted on the monthly calendar.


Announcements and News

Learn to belly dance with Mandy Eastman.  Mandy has been dancing for more than 20 years.  She is familiar with Egyptian, Jordanian, and Turkish dance styles.  She is a founding member of Troupe Zephyr. 

Classes are kid friendly and open to all body shapes and sizes.  You don't have to be thin and in shape to learn to dance.  Just come and have fun and love your body image. You might even loose some weight while having fun. 

Next class is Monday, August 19th at 3 PM in the Armstrong Community Room. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Stop by to have your photo taken on the Magic School Bus in comm oration of the 50th Anniversary of the First Man on the Moon.  You too can blast off just like Neil Armstrong did!

Potluck Dinner

Monthly Potluck Dinner

All residents are invited to join the monthly potluck dinner with fellow residents and staff.  When everyone brings something to share, everyone can feast.  It doesn't need to be homemade or fancy, but something from the heart that you feel likesharing. Do you have a dietary restriction?   Bring something you can eat that everyone can try as well. 

If you're not abe to share this month, plan on putting something aside for next month.  If you would like to participate in helping to prepare part of them meal, please contact the office and they will be happy to tell you more on how you can help organize and prepare the meal.  Potluck dates are posted on the monthly calendars.

Quick Fit is a 30 minute strength building class that is low impact designed for seniors. Work your body and mind as you build strength and balance through chair exercises.   Janna is the Wellness Coordinator at the Wapakoneta YMCA.   She uses a variety of fitness equipment like resistance bands and stability balls.  Class is fun and open to all adults - you don't have to be a senior to participate.  Participants shoule wear comfortable clothes and shoes.  Open to the public.
